LANSING, Mich. – Peter Spadafore, executive director of the Michigan Alliance for Student Opportunity (The Alliance), congratulated Ypsilanti Community Schools on receiving the 2022 Schools and Systems of Distinction award from Cognia on Monday, November 7.
“Congratulations to Ypsilanti Community Schools for their well-earned recognition for fostering an educational environment that helps students excel,” said Peter Spadafore, executive director of The Alliance. “Ypsilanti Community Schools has demonstrated a strong commitment to student success, and receiving Cognia’s 2022 Schools and Systems of Distinction award exemplifies their hard work to help students grow academically while preparing them for a bright future.”
Cognia is a global, nonprofit improvement organization dedicated to helping institutions and other education providers grow learners, teachers, and leaders. The Schools of Distinction earn this recognition based on the results of Cognia’s rigorous Accreditation Engagement Review process. During the 2021-2022 school year, Cognia conducted approximately 1,500 school engagement reviews for accreditation. This year, Ypsilanti Community Schools was among the 96 schools and 38 systems in 34 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and nine countries that were recognized.
